A calculation was made of the Sequence VI Equivalent Fuel Economy Improvement (EFEI) using the entries denoted by arrows (<) in Table 1 in the Sequence VI correlation equation.
[(.66xA) + (.34xB) - (.34xC) + 2.76]/1.45 = EFEI |
|
A= (HR 150 - Cand. 150)/HR 150 |
This is the percent economy improvement to the candidate at 150 degrees F relative to HR 150 |
B = (HR150 - Cand. 275)/HR 150 |
This is the percent economy improvement of the candidate at 275 degrees F relative to HR 150 |
C = (HR150 CAL-FM275 CAL)/HR 150 CAL |
This is a factor in the equation necessary for correlation with 5-Car testing |
Inserting these values in the equation yields:
[(.66x0.19%) + (.34x11.32%) + 2.76]/1.45 = 1.13% EFEI

*Treat engine with GENESIS, then flush in fresh HR, age 31-1/2 hours, then start the BSFC Measurements in bracket below this.
Open arrows on right side of page point to the only numbers used to compute a Sequence VI Test EFEI overall rating.
Taking a different approach in comparing the HR oil economy after the GENESIS treatment with the HR economy before the GENESIS was introduced:
At 150 degrees F oil gallery temperature the economy improved 0.19% after treatment.
At 225 degrees F oil gallery temperature the economy improved (.8994 - .8736)/.8994 = 2.87%
AT 275 degrees F oil gallery temperature the economy improved (.9055 - .85915)/.9055 = 5.12%
